Thanks to a deficit in knowledge, lack of undergraduate experience, and chronic underfunding for endodontic treatment in the NHS, there is a vast store of failing root canal treated teeth, that will need to be redone or extracted at some point in time.

Many dentists will happily and competently root treat complex teeth, but believe that retreatment is a complexity too far.

This is far from the truth with the trick to success being effective diagnosis and case selection. Once you get the hang of this, you will be in a position to exploit this huge hole in the market.

This one day course has been designed to firstly help you identify the type of retreatment cases that can be done relatively easily with a predictable, successful outcome, and then show you how it can be done. This confidence building day is suitable for practitioners with intermediate endodontic skills, who have a familiarity with the operating microscope or illuminated loupes and reading CBCT scans.

"..... root canal treatment failure is too often deemed a hopeless prognosis. A great practice builder if you can save it!...."

The course will provide you with a knowledge and understanding of:

  • The aims and objectives of successful retreatodontics.
  • How to isolate properly and place rubber dam rapidly.
  • Effective case selection.
  • The use of CBCT in case assessment and the concept of targeted endodontics
  • Gutta percha removal.
  • Effective disinfection using new and innovative instrumentation.
  • These course objectives will be achieved through small group presentations, practical-based on-line documentation, demonstrations, and hands-on practical tasks using operating microscopes, phantom simulators and Academy teeth

The day will provide 7 hours of certified CPD.
