Dr Leigh-Ann Elias trained in her native South Africa, undergraduate studies in Dentistry and Medicine. Leigh-Ann relocated to the UK on completion of her undergraduate studies in 1997, and settled in Scotland, starting off in general dental practice then later furthered her studies in Maxillo-Facial and Oral Surgery department in Aberdeen completing further education at the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. Leigh-Ann worked in Oxford before relocating to London in 2009.
Leigh-Ann, together with Professor Tara Renton now helps to run the Oro-Facial Pain Multi-disciplinary Team at Kings’ College Dental Institute, the biggest of its kind in Europe. She is also a senior clinical teacher in Oral Surgery, training both under and post graduate students.
Oro-Facial Pain scope includes nerve injuries in relation to oral surgery, endodontics, implant-placement. Persistent Neuropathic pain conditions, TMJ pain, Trigeminal Neuralgia and dental related headache conditions.
